Here, we’ll present relevant research and opinion polls as they’re released that show where public opinion stands on child obesity issues.

 

How Do Oklahomans Feel About Childhood Obesity?

 

84% of Oklahomans agree that physical education should be a requirement in schools.
61% of Oklahomans favor a physical education class with a mandated exercise program for students.
Almost three-fourths of Oklahoma City metro residents (70%) support a policy that would include a licensed dietitian to supervise and implement meal programs in schools. Statewide, 65% support it.
Two-thirds of Oklahomans (66%) support removal from schools of vending machines that contain products such as soda and candy.
