"Fun & Fit"/Putnam City

 

For: Kids ages 6-14 years

 

Hours: Before and after school (7:00 a.m. util school begins and from school's out until 6:00 p.m. Parents can opt for before and/or after school.

 

Features the Pinnacle Curriculum, providing opportunities for students to interact with each other as they participate in activities that challenge their creativity and provide a social/recreational outlet.

 

All staff have at least 12 units class work in child development and one year's experience working with school-aged children.
Excellent adult-to-child ratio.
Nutritious morning snack and afternoon snack.
Summer programs offered.
Affordable and cost-effective; second-child discount available.
Reading program with the Metropolitan Library System.

FLIK (Fitness Lessons Influencing Kids)

 

For: Kids ages 13-16 years

 

Location: PACER Fitness Center

 

Hours: Open Mon-Fri 5:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

Sat 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Sun Noon-5:30 p.m.

 

FLIK includes:

 

Evaluation of height, weight, flexibility and body composition (body fat %)
Endurance test (on a bike or treadmill to determine estimated max heart rate and fitness level)
Consultation with a dietician
Set up of a weight/cardiovascular program for the child based upon the outcomes above

 

Parents must accompany the child while the child is at PACER. Most all of the parents go through the evaluation process with their child.

For Adults, Older Teens

“Changing Your Weighs”

 

This eight-week INTEGRIS Baptist-based program has been helping Oklahomans get fit for 20 years. It is an adult-oriented weight loss program (minimum age 15), focusing on diet, exercise and behavior modification that is ideal for parents who want to be positive role models for children.

 

A 2-hour class weekly for 8 weeks
First hour:  Nutrition info
Second hour:  Behavior modification/exercise, with at least 30 min. physical activity.
Covers general nutrition information vs. any specific diet, but will support any diet program participants are enrolled in.

                

Program includes:

 

A 2-month membership to PACER Fitness Center.
Fitness testing at the beginning and end of the program, including aerobic, cholesterol, blood and BMI tests.
Participants are required to keep a detailed daily food log, which is reviewed weekly in order to  offer feedback and suggest healthier snack/meal options.

For Teens & Adults

For: Available to the general public

 

Location: 5520 N. Independence Ave. • Oklahoma City

 

Hours: Open Mon-Fri 5:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

Sat 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Sun Noon-5:30 p.m.

Free weights & machine weights
Fitness classes (aerobics, step, cardio kickboxing, circuit training, yoga, pilates, tai chi, yoga, etc.)
Cardio theatre (bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, Stairmasters, etc.)
Nutrition/weight management program for adults

2 racquetball courts
Locker rooms
Men's & women's whirlpool and steam rooms
Access to swimming pool at the Marriott (across street)
Massage therapy
