SB 1627 Healthy & Fit School Advisory Committee – creates the Healthy and Fit School Advisory Committees in each school comprised of parents, local health care professionals and community leaders to study and make recommendations to their school principal regarding health, physical fitness, nutrition, health education and health services.

The Healthy and Fit school Advisory Committees are encouraged to utilize the School Health Index (SHI) available from the CDC or the Oklahoma Healthy and Fit Schools Scorecard available on the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports website as a program assessment and monitoring instrument.

The Healthy and Fit School Advisory Committees shall be involved in the monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of the newly established regulations limits access to foods of minimal nutritional value.
